The Jade Book is self-contained; it is displayed standing – so that all pages can be viewed – on a magnificent oak stand, encased in glass, and lit so that people can experience the beautiful translucency of the stone. It requires only space (over 200 square feet is most ideal for proper viewing of the exhibit) and access to an electrical outlet. The artist has taken care of every minute detail including the transport of every piece of this project.  (The Jade Book can also be displayed lying flat on a smaller stand.)

There is a companion nephrite piece that can be displayed alongside The Jade Book and that sits on a matching stand. It is a piece of the original boulder from which The Jade Book was carved and serves to show the public what nephrite looks like in its natural state, also to emphasize the incredible transition from boulder to book.  Check out the new additions to the exhibit.

A companion piece of nephrite – part of the same block of jade that Cosimo Geracitano purchased first and from which he fashioned The Jade Book – is displayed beside The Jade Book on a matching stand. This piece of jade coincidentally weighs exactly the same as The Jade Book: 68.5 kilograms (151 pounds). The magnificent oak stands were created and custom-made by Dev Padhi of Santa Cruz Construction. Photo by Keith Young
