Be part of our 2005/2006 Educational Tour! We want to come to your          school and share The Jade Book and its message of peace.

Project Stone of Hope is highly compatible with many of the BC Ministry of Education’s prescribed     learning outcomes and suggested instructional strategies for Personal Planning, CAPP, Social         Studies, Science, Fine Arts, and other subjects. Since March 2004, we have visited students from elementary to university levels. We have touched the hands of hundreds of people, spoken to several thousand, and been seen and heard by several hundred thousand (through print, radio, and television media). The goal of our presentation and exhibition is to inspire students to create futures that            include charitable and loving service in their communities, inspire them to be carvers of peace! See      photos of school visits and read how students have been inspired!

Our rate for school visits is low because we donate much of our time. (Different          rates apply for keynote speeches to adult groups.) Our rate includes the following:

1.  Visit by the sculptor of The Jade Book, Cosimo Geracitano.                                                                                                                                                             2.  Visit by the author of the printed companion book, The Jade Book: A Stone of Hope,                             Daniela Vance – BCCT certified teacher, parent of three children (one child with Down syndrome and Autism), and author of My Gift: The Magic of a Special Child.

3.  Travelling exhibit – The sculpture The Jade Book plus new additions to the exhibit which include            the original drawings, the wood model, the tools used, the gear worn, photos of the work in progress,          the opera music listened to, the taped sounds of the tools used, pieces of soapstone with carving               tools, and jade pieces – a visual, tactile, and auditory experience students will love!

4.  Travel time, cost of transport, set up time (1-1˝ hrs.) and take down time (1-1˝ hrs.). (These time estimations apply to local visits only.)

5.  Presentation – We have presentations for four different levels: grades 2-5, grades 6-8, grades 8-12,        and adult groups.                                                                                                                                                             6.  Autographed postcards – One for each student (for elementary and middle school students and             small groups of secondary school students only) and a handout on jade (jade mining, carving, history,        and symbolism) for teachers to download, print, and photocopy.

7. Stone of Hope Certificates – Whenever possible, one of us will return to your school to present a            student (or a group of students) with a certificate for the efforts he/she has made to hew a stone of             hope for someone else/others. Eligible students are those who display love and nonviolence in action.         From the smallest of gestures to the largest of projects, any action done in the true spirit of love and sacrifice counts!
