The video, “The Jade Book: A Stone of Hope,” highlights
the fascinating journey that Cosimo Geracitano took to
transform the toughest naturally occurring material on
Earth into a seemingly impossible form, a peace book made
entirely out of jade with bound pages that can be turned.
The video
focuses also on the symbolism of
The Jade Book, a work
of love that honours the way in which three of history’s
greatest humanitarians – Mother Teresa, Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi – took despair and moulded
it into hope. It highlights the accomplishments of these
humanitarians, their interconnectedness, and the oneness of
all.

The
lecture, "Hewing a Stone of Hope", speaks of the
possibility of transformation, of each person's ability to
become increasingly compassionate, accepting, charitable,
loving, and active! It encourages all (including those who
have not experienced adversity) to put love and nonviolence in action, to hew hope for themselves and
those around them by sharing their talents, skills,
resources, etc. The author and the sculptor share their
personal experiences as they relate to this topic. |

Sia la conferenza che il video completano il libro
stampato, Il Libro di Giada: Una Pietra di Speranza
di Daniela Geracitano Vance, con la premessa de Arun
Gandhi, nipote del Mahatma Gandhi e fondatore/direttore
dell’Istituto M.K. Gandhi per la Nonviolenza a
Memphis, Tennessee.
